Join us for canapes and drinks as our cinema and social night kicks off with a screening of βThe Danish Girl.β
This 2015 British/American biographical romantic drama is based on the novel of the same name. A love story loosely inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.
FOLLOWED BY A TRANS SAFE SPACE MEETING AND AFTER PARTY
While the cinema night is open to everyone, entry to after-party reserved for trans community members and their guests. We welcome all newcomers and would like to encourage you to speak to Stuart after the screening if you would like to join the safespace meeting.
After the film, a private counselling and social safe space meeting will take place at the Gay Project Cork Community Centre geared at extending advice and support to any newcomers who identify as trans, followed by a well-deserved after party featuring the sounds of DJ Adam X on the decks.
